Saturday, December 17, 2011 Match Results
Blackburn (1) – West Bromwich (2)
Nice opening goal for West Brom off the volley. Bad defense to give Blackburn a goal, but the winner by West Brom was a terrific strike.
Everton (1) – Norwich (1)
Unexpected turn and goal by Norwich. The defenders kind of gave up and let him hold the ball. Everton scored late in the game to secure a point.
Fulham (2) – Bolton (0)
Dempsey made up for last week’s failure and had a nice header goal. Nice scoop goal by Fulham who dominated this game.
Newcastle (0) – Swansea (0)
Newcastle had their chances to score but were denied by the keeper and woodwork for a draw.
Wolverhampton (1) – Stoke (2)
Another nice win for Stoke after beating Tottenham last week, this time coming from behind to win for an important 3 points.
Wigan (1) – Chelsea (1)
Great finish by Sturridge he’s been playing very well for Chelsea. Cech made a huge error at the end of the game by not securing a very weak attempt at a shot on goal and the Wigan player finished it easily. Wigan stole a point late but definitely deserved it by fighting all game.

QPR (0) – Manchester United (2)
Quick goal for Man United within just 1 minute of the start. Horrible defensive job by QPR on the second goal to let Carrick dribble down half the field and score unopposed.
Aston Villa (0) – Liverpool (2)
Important win for Liverpool to give them 3 points. Tap in for Bellamy and a beautiful header by Skrtel right in the top corner for the second. Suarez had a few chances to add more goals for Liverpool, but was denied by the crossbar TWO times very unlucky.
Tottenham (1) – Sunderland (0)
First goal for Pav who has not seen much, if any, playing time so far this season and it was enough for the win.
Manchester City (1) – Arsenal (0)
Big win for Man City versus a red-hot Arsenal team. City had numerous chances to score and controlled most of the game on attack. Chances for both sides though with some great goalkeeping, especially Hart at the end to save City and get a win to stay on top of the table in first. Big difference in Arsenal’s level of play vs a tough opponent compared to their thrashing by Man United early in the season.
